Crisis - bridging the belief gap
Crisis is an extraordinary charity helping people directly out of homelessness and campaigning for the social changes needed to solve it...
I am an experienced brand, marketing and innovation specialist with an aptitude for seeing opportunity through change. I am strategic, self-motivated and creative in my approach. I have worked at Exec level for a number of years, leading organisations and influencing Boards. I have restructured, built-from zero and motivated high-performing, wide-ranging teams.
I bring empathy, external objectivity, authentic challenge and strategic understanding to the process. I am collaborative, curious and open-minded in my approach - I ask questions, actively listen, look to do things differently and help change the things that need changing.
I’m flexible in my approach and am happy to chat to you about the most cost-effective solution for your organisation. I can work on a project basis, retainer or day rate. I enjoy working with in-house teams and also support agencies.
I have had the privilege of working with some brilliant people over the years and am able to draw on an extensive network of specialists, if needed, to help develop the best way forward for your organisation.
Organisations I have worked with include:
Macmillan Cancer Support | Cancer Research UK | Bloodwise | National Cancer Action Team | Cancerbackup | Crisis | AVERT | Good Things Foundation | Governments (English, Welsh & Scottish) | Councils | NHS | Cable & Wireless | Boots | Wickes | Energy Saving Trust | SHP
Emma is extraordinary. One of the most capable and motivated people I've worked with. Her natural ability to view the bigger market context and the micro implications of innovation and brand has been a major part of her success.
Innovation Consultant
Emma balances the creativity and positivity you need to plan ahead with the energy and tenacity to see things through. She has the ability to imagine a better future and inspire others to go there with her. In 20 years working in brand development, I have never seen anyone make a more positive or wide-ranging impact on an organisation or brand.
Undivided
Emma's vision and ambition helped transform Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research into Bloodwise, a brand that is attempting to change the way charities work across the blood cancer sector. This transformation went well beyond a name change and she was responsible for introducing teams like Insight and Media as well as driving forward digital transformation and innovation.
Bloodwise
Emma combines an amazing amount of drive with a way of working that is deeply personable and human. Her devotion to really understanding the challenge in front of her - be it at an organisational or individual level - is nothing short of inspiring. Emma speaks with confidence, listens even harder, and thrives when she's given the space to immerse herself in a client's world.

Killer Creative
Human. Strategic. Brave. Emma is constantly looking at the bigger picture, unafraid to try innovative approaches and have difficult conversations to make change happen, always with a deeply human lens. She understands how to build and sustain a great, purposeful led brand. This combination has enabled her to drive truly progressive change. Before one project has finished, she'll be on the lookout for ways to make the brand even better.
It's not easy playing the role of provocateur and guardian of a brand. It involves really tough decisions, conversations, and stakeholder management, and bags of relentless energy.
Rebel Cell
Emma is a rare talent, I’ve never really worked with a client like her before. She has a brilliant grasp of the big picture, coupled with an intuitive sense of the emotive and visceral side of branding - the intangible stuff that really impacts the people affected by brand change. Add to that the bravery to drive necessary change through and it’s a powerful combination.
